13-14 Recap
Austin Dutremble accomplished something that may never happen again in BHS basketball history, winning defensive player of the year as a freshmen. Austin was always assigned the toughest defensive task, guarding the best players in the SMAA. Austin’s 11 offensive charges taken probably led the league. As a 5’7” freshmen, Austin was also able to grab 7 rebounds in four different games. On offense, Austin played #4 spot and was responsible for passing the ball in versus full court pressure. Austin also made honors in Q1 and Q2 and was a leader by example on the team. Austin’s high character, appreciative attitude, and work ethic are prime examples of a Biddeford basketball player. While Austin’s game is not flashy, he will be making the key plays for Biddeford victories for years to come.
